Abstract

The following article aims to present the parental leave as an alternative to the maternal leave, with a view to advocating collaborative paternity, as well as equality within the family, contributing to the overcome of gender inequality in the labour market. With this purpose, it uses empirical and theoretical analysis. It concludes that, even though parental leave is not the law, it is possible to apply it in analogy to homoparenthood experiences.
