Assisted reproduction techniques based on Medicine Federal Council Resolution number 2.121/15 – Its main aspects

This article has the aim to demonstrate that the theme ‘assisted reproductive techniques’ was not properly regulated by the Civil Code. Because of this, the Federal Council of Medicine has edited resolutions that take care of the issue, and the most recent is the Resolution No. 2.121/2015. It demonstrates the importance of this advance in medicine, contributing to the parental project of couples who have some difficulty having children. It will use the resolution as a basis to show some gaps in the law and which were the solutions suggested by it. It will be emphasized the importance of the clarification concerning the use of such methods, and then finally analyzing the problem of having frozen embryos, in particular with regard to its destination when it is not used.
